Tips for navigating London:
Download the app Citymapper for the clearest, most accurate instructions for getting around London on public transport.
Set up Apple Pay or an equivalent (or use a contactless card) for tapping in and out on the underground and buses (for buses you only need to tap in, not out). This is the simplest way to pay for public transport, though you can buy tickets for the underground at the station.
For buying train tickets ahead of time for Sevenoaks station (the closest to Bore Place), Trainline is a good website/app.
